Valedictory Services and Leavers Assemblies
During the last two weeks of this half-term we said our farewells to Year 11 and 13.  The music at the Valedictory Services was excellent and the photographs from the students’ years at Crompton House brought back lots of good memories. At the Leavers Assemblies a number of awards were presented, after which the students were “clapped out” by the rest of the school.

CHS Brass Band
After their excellent playing at the Music for Youth Festival in Rochdale earlier this year, the school Brass Band has qualified for the National Festival at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Thursday 4th July.  Many of our musicians will also be in Birmingham on the Friday and Saturday with the Borough music groups.

Public Exams
With pupils from Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 all sitting GCSE  or A Level exams, Crompton House is a quieter place than usual!  Year 7 and 8 had their exams before half-term, with Year 9 in the first week in June.

Crompton House Newsletter
The May edition of the CHS Newsletter has details about the school budget, new curriculum teams and rooming issues from Mrs Calvert as well as articles and photographs of the Valedictory Services and Leavers Assemblies. Mr Dunkley explains the new House Ties and possible new rewards and there is the latest calendar and staff news.  On the front page is an article about ten short stories written by Lauren Jones of Yr 11.  There is a photograph of the four Yr 13 students who were presented with the Rotary Club Student of the Year Awards, as well as articles on the school’s 3-D printer, photographs of the Year 8 Afternoon Tea competition and sports news.
